Horst Günter Krenzler

Horst Günter Krenzler (born March 26, 1933 in Wuppertal ; † July 20, 2012 ) was a German European civil servant.

Career

Krenzler studied German, political science and law and received his doctorate in international law from Heidelberg University in 1964 .

From 1975 he was head of the “Far East” department, later the “United States / Canada” department at the European Commission's Directorate General for External Relations . He then became director of the "Negotiation and Management of Textile Agreements and Trade Issues Related to Industry and Energy" department. Later he was Deputy Secretary General and from 1986 to 1996 Director General for External Relations.

He then taught public law, in particular international law and European law, as an honorary professor at the Law Faculty of the University of Munich .
