Horst H. Siedentopf

Horst H. Siedentopf (born May 4, 1941 in Magdeburg ; † December 19, 2017 ) was a German manager and economist .

Life

Horst Siedentopf studied economics and became 1968 in Cologne with a dissertation on the structure of energy consumption for Dr. rer. pole. PhD. In 1961 he became a member of the Corps Vandalo-Guestphalia Heidelberg. At first he was assistant, lecturer and managing director of the Energy Economics Institute at the University of Cologne.

He worked for companies such as Esso , VEBA , Stinnes (board member coal business) and Metallgesellschaft (chairman of the board of MG Trade Services AG) in board functions in international trade and international logistics.

From 1999 to 2006, Siedentopf was Professor of Foreign Trade and International Management (AIM) at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences .

From 2003 to 2006 he was Norwegian Honorary Consul in Hamburg , from 2007 Honorary Consul of Morocco in Hamburg and from 2009 to 2012 President of the Euro-Mediterranean-Arab Association .

Siedentopf was married to the historian Monika Siedentopf; the marriage has two children.
