Horst Liebe (born February 7, 1931 in Oelsnitz / Erzgeb. ) Is a former German enduro athlete . He was a GDR champion in off-road sport several times .

Life

Love achieved his first successes in 1954 and 1955, when he became a GDR champion in the motorcycle racing of the Society for Sport and Technology (GST) . From 1956 he was a member of the MZ works team and took part in the international six-day trip in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the factory team. In the same year he was GDR runner-up in the class up to 350 cm³. In 1959 he was best in class in the 250cc class at the Six Days and received a gold medal. The DDR Trophy team came third with him. In the same year he was also GDR champion in the class up to 250 cm³.

In 1960 he again achieved a gold medal at the 35th International Six-Day Race . In 1959 and 1962 he also won the "Edelweiss" at the International Austrian Alpine Tour . In 1961 he became the first foreigner to win the Swedish 3-day race. Around Zschopau he saw him as class and overall winner in 1961 and 1962.

After an accident as a rally copilot at the International Austrian Alpine Tour in 1963, he had to end his career.

After his active career, he became customer service manager at MZ and had been director of foreign and domestic trade in the motorcycle factory since 1970.
