35th international six-day trip
The 35th International Six-Day Tour was an off-road motorcycle competition that took place from September 19 to 24, 1960 in Bad Aussee, Austria, and the Ausseerland . The national team of the host Austria won the World Trophy for the first and so far only time. The silver vase won the Italian national team for the first time.

Bad Aussee was the venue for the event for the second time after the 27th International Six-Day Tour (1952) had already taken place here.
The organizer was the Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club (ÖAMTC)
284 drivers from 17 FIM motorsport associations were registered for the competition . Teams from nine nations competed for the trophy standings. In addition, 22 silver vase, 30 factory, 16 club and six military teams were at the start.
Each driver who reached the finish and scored no penalties and more than 1500 good points received a gold medal. For a silver medal the goal had to be achieved, there could not be more than 25 penalty points and at least one good point could be achieved. The bronze medal was awarded to those who achieved the goal but received more than 25 penalty points.
In the team classification, military teams were rated separately. The winner received a prize donated by the Swedish Motorsport Association SVME.
1 day
Of the 284 registered riders, 275 started the competition. With a total length of 427.5 kilometers, the first stage was the longest of the event.
After starting in Bad Aussee, the route led west and southwest via Obertraun , Hallstatt , Gosaumühle, Gosau , Rußbach , Zwieselbad, Annaberg , Lungötz , St. Martin , Niedernfritz , Hüttau , Bischofshofen , St. Johann , Sankt Veit , Taxenbach to Bruck . From there to the south over the Großglockner High Alpine Road , in the course of which the maximum height of the stage is 2506 m above sea level. A. was reached until after Heiligenblut and on to Winklern . From there to the east through the Möll valley to Lurnfeld . Further north via Lendorf , Gmünd , Kremsbrücke , the Katschberghöhe , Sankt Michael , Mauterndorf , the Twenger Talpass , Ober- and Untertauern to Radstadt . From there to the east and north via Pichl, Schladming , Gröbming , Sankt Martin am Grimming and Mitterndorf back to the starting point in Bad Aussee.
There were eight time controls and two transit controls along the route. As a special test, a combined acceleration and braking test was carried out over 400 m on the Ennstal federal road 112 at kilometer 65.2 between Lengdorf and Tipschern .
In the trophy standings, the GDR team was ahead of the host Austria's team and the FRG team.
In the silver vase evaluation, Italy's B-team led ahead of the FRG B-team and the ČSSR A-team.
Eight drivers dropped out of the competition.
2 day
The route of the second day of driving was 318.1 kilometers long and followed from Bad Aussee in the opposite direction of the route of the previous day to Sankt Martin am Grimming. From there further south via Öblarn , Großsölk , the Sölkpass to Schöder . Further west and south-west via Krakaudorf, Seebach , Krakauschatten , the Prebersee , Tamsweg , Thomatal , Gruben, Blaahaus and Innerkrems to Kremsbrücke. From there, the route of the previous day to the junction to the Gnadenalm from Katschberg Straße was used. Then it went over the Südwiener Hütte through the Flachau valley to Niedernfritz. From there, the route led in the opposite direction via that of the previous day back to Bad Aussee.
There were seven time controls and four transit controls along the route. The special test was a mountain test over 10 kilometers from Sankt Nikolai ( 1126 m above sea level ) to the Sölkpass ( 1790 m above sea level ).
In the trophy standings, the Austrian team led ahead of the FRG team and the Swedish team.
In the silver vase evaluation, Italy's B-team led ahead of the ČSSR B-team and the FRG B-team.
Eight drivers dropped out of the competition.
3rd day
The third day's stage was 169.7 kilometers. After starting in Bad Aussee, the route led north and west via Altaussee and the Pötschenpass to Gosaumühle. From there to Niedernfritz, the route was that of the first day of driving. From there the route ran east again through the Schattbachtal via Filzmoos , through the Mandling , Kulm , Rössing , Weißenbach and Aich to Gröbming. From there to shortly before Mitterndorf, the route on the first day of the journey was used. We continued over the Lungmoosalm and the Ödensee back to Bad Aussee.
There were four time controls and the same number of transit controls along the route. The special test of the stage was a mountain test over 3.2 kilometers between Altaussee ( 659 m above sea level ) and the Salzberg ( 1048 m above sea level ).
In the trophy standings, the Austrian team was ahead of the Swedish team and the ČSSR team.
In the silver vase evaluation, as on the day before, Italy's B-team led ahead of the ČSSR B-team and the FRG B-team.
4th day
On the fourth day of driving, 408.7 kilometers had to be completed. The route on the first and second day of the journey was used from Bad Aussee to Mitterndorf. From there it went further east via Pürgg , Stainach , Liezen and Selzthal to Trieben . From there further south over the Triebener Tauern mountain pass ( 1274 m above sea level ) to Judenburg . On via Schmelz to Obdach . From here it went westwards via Noreia , Sankt Veit in the area , Hammerl , Judendorf , Grades , Metnitz, Oberhof and Glödnitz to Sirnitz , where the southernmost point was reached. Then it went north again over the Hochrindl pass ( 1561 m above sea level ), Reichenau , the Turracher Höhe ( 1795 m above sea level ), Turrach , Predlitz to Tamsweg . From there back to Bad Aussee, the route, which was slightly changed in three places, was used on the second day of the journey in the opposite direction.
There were eight time controls and five passage controls along the route. The special test was a terrain test over 12.6 kilometers between St. Anna bei Obdach and Metnitz.
As on the day before, the Austrian team led the Swedish team and the ČSSR team in the trophy standings.
In the silver vase evaluation, the Italian B-team continued to lead ahead of the ČSSR B-team and the FRG B-team.
22 drivers dropped out of the competition.
5th day
The route ran from Bad Aussee to Sankt Martin am Grimming over the route of the third day. The rest of the route over the Sölkpass to Schöder was identical to the route on the second day of the journey, with the exception of a “hook” in a side valley near Kleinsölk . From there it went south via Murau , Auer and Wöbering through the Metnitz Mountains to Metnitz and on via Sankt Ruprecht, Ingolsthal , Sankt Lambrecht , Triebendorf , Katsch , Oberwölz , the Hocheggersattel ( 1318 m above sea level ) to Oberzeiring . From there back to Bad Aussee, the route followed the course of the fourth day in the opposite direction. Total length: 298.5 kilometers.
Six time controls and seven transit controls were set up along the route. As a special test, a terrain test over 12 kilometers between St. Lamprecht and Oberwölz had to be completed.
In the trophy standings, the Austrian team led ahead of the ČSSR team and the Swedish team.
In the silver vase evaluation, Italy's B-team continued to lead ahead of the ČSSR B-team and the FRG B-team.
Five drivers dropped out of the competition.
6th day
The last day's stage was only 129.1 kilometers long. The route from Bad Aussee to Oberzeiring followed the course of the fourth day, apart from a slight change between Pürgg and Selzthal. The further route ran via Sankt Oswald , the Seckauer Tauern , Gaal and Sachendorf to the Zeltweg air base .
The final special stage was the final race there on a 3.2-kilometer circuit, which had to be driven 16 to 28 times depending on the class division.
Four drivers dropped out of the competition. Of the 275 drivers who started on the first day, 228 reached the finish.
