Triebendorf was an independent municipality with 137 inhabitants until December 31, 2014 (as of October 31, 2013) in the judicial district or district of Murau in Styria . On January 1, 2015, it became part of the municipal structural reform in Styria with the previously independent municipalities of Laßnitz bei Murau and Stolzalpe of the municipality of Murau .

The earliest written evidence is from 1320 and is "Tribendorf". The name goes back to Slavic trebiti (to clear).

On December 31, 2014 it was dissolved as part of the Styrian municipal structural reform and Murau was incorporated.

According to the 2001 census of workplaces , there were 6 workplaces with 22 employees in the village as well as 56 out-commuters and 14 in-commuters. In addition, there were 13 agricultural and forestry holdings (10 of which were the main occupation), which together farmed 648 hectares (as of 1999).
