Up until the end of 2014, Oberwölz Umgebung was a municipality with 746 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2018) in the judicial district or district of Murau in Styria . Since January 1, 2015 it has been merged with the municipalities of Oberwölz Stadt , Schönberg-Lachtal and Winklern bei Oberwölz as part of the Styrian municipal structural reform , the new municipality is called " Oberwölz ".

history

The political municipality of Oberwölz was established in 1849/50. The cadastral municipality of Oberwölz was separated from this original municipality of Oberwölz in 1899 and constituted as an independent municipality of Stadt Oberwölz . The rest of the original community was given the name Umgebung Oberwölz .

The community of Schönberg was separated from this in 1927.

Economy and Infrastructure

According to the 2001 census of workplaces , there were 15 workplaces with 36 employees in the municipality as well as 261 out-commuters and 19 in-commuters. There were 109 agricultural and forestry holdings (72 of which were the main occupation), which together farmed 7,785 hectares (as of 1999).
