The personal names of the residents of Scheifling are documented from around 1030. The majority of all names are Slavic . The document proves that Styria was still predominantly Slavic in the Middle Ages.

coat of arms
Both predecessor parishes had parish coats of arms. The community of Scheifling was awarded a coat of arms on October 29, 1976 with effect from January 1, 1977. The blazon (description of the coat of arms) read:
- "In a shield, split from red to green by a golden crook, in front two crossed silver hammers, behind two crossed silver shovels with the leaves up."
A knight family living here in the Middle Ages called themselves "von Scheuflich" and had two crossed shovels in their coat of arms. The two hammers refer to the former scythe and hammer mills, the crook to the Archdiocese of Salzburg.
The community of St. Lorenzen bei Scheifling was awarded a coat of arms on June 20, 1988 with effect from July 1, 1988. The blazon (description of the coat of arms) read: "In red over a golden counter battlement a golden grate filling the upper half of the shield."
Due to the amalgamation of the municipalities, these coats of arms became invalid from January 1st, 2015. With effect from November 5, 2019, the Styrian state government awarded the merged community a new coat of arms. The new blazon reads:
- "In the shield, divided by green and silver in pewter cut, a hammer and a shovel crossed diagonally above in silver, a red grate horizontally below."
In this way, elements from both coats of arms of the predecessor communities were combined in the new community coat of arms.
