30. International six-day trip

The 30th International Six-Day Tour was an off-road motorcycle competition that took place from September 13 to 18, 1955 in Gottwaldov, Czechoslovakia, and the surrounding area. The FRG national team won the trophy for the first time. The silver vase went to Czechoslovakia for the fifth time.

The event took place for the third time in Gottwaldov, after the 22nd (1947) and 28th International Six-Day Race (1953) were held here.

257 drivers from 17 FIM motorsport associations were registered for the competition. Teams from six nations competed for the trophy. In addition, 23 silver vase and 23 club teams were at the start.

The FRG took part in the World Trophy as well as with two silver vase teams. Austria started with a trophy and silver vase team, Switzerland with a silver vase team.

1 day

Of the 257 registered drivers, 241 took up the competition.

After the first day of driving, the team from Germany and Austria were tied in the Trophy without penalty points. They were also followed by Czechoslovakia and Italy, each with 2 penalty points, followed by Great Britain and Sweden.

The teams from Great Britain (A and B), Czechoslovakia (B), FRG (B), Poland (A), Belgium (A), Romania (A), the Netherlands (A) and Sweden (A) were in the silver vase evaluation. free of penalty points. In the Austrian team, Georg Ölmann received 5 penalty points, which meant 12th place (together with the B team from Poland). With Hans Meier , the A-team of the FRG already had the first driver failure, which from then on meant 100 penalty points a day. In the Swiss team, Karl Meier and Hans Kramer fell , which finished last.

In the club ranking, the German participants ADAC Gau Nordbayern, ADAC Gau Hansa, ADAC Gau Südbayern and the Rheydter Club für Motorsport were still without penalty points and were tied with six other club teams.

29 drivers dropped out of the competition.

2 day

On the second day, all Italian teams and drivers withdrew from the competition.

The trophy led the FRG team with no penalty points ahead of Czechoslovakia (3 penalty points) and Austria (101 penalty points).

In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from Czechoslovakia (B), FRG (B) and Poland (A) were tied without penalty points. In the Austrian team, Georg Ölmann received another 6 penalty points, the team was in 6th place. In the A-team of the FRG, Wiggerl Kraus received 10 penalty points, the team was in 18th place.

In the club ranking, the German participants ADAC Gau Nordbayern, ADAC Gau Südbayern and the Rheydter Club für Motorsport were still without penalty points and were tied with another club team (KAMK Liberec) at the top.

41 drivers dropped out of the competition.

3rd day

The third day of the journey consisted of two parts: a day and a night stage.

In the Trophy, the FRG team continued to lead ahead of Czechoslovakia (3 penalty points) and Great Britain (125 penalty points). The Austrian team followed in 4th place. With Eduard Beranek and Otto Heisinger , this had to record two driver failures in the day stage, in the night stage Helmuth Inszko received 5 penalty points.

In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from Czechoslovakia (B), FRG (B) and Poland (A) were still tied with no penalty points. In the Austrian team, Georg Ölmann received 23 penalty points and Günther Rajnoch 6 penalty points, the team was in 5th place. The A-team in Germany was in 15th place.

In the club ranking, the German participants ADAC Gau Nordbayern and Rheydter Club für Motorsport were without penalty points and were therefore tied at the top of the ranking.

32 drivers dropped out of the competition.

4th day

At the end of the fourth day of driving, the FRG team, which had no penalty points, continued to lead in the Trophy ahead of Czechoslovakia and Great Britain. The Austrian team followed in 4th place.

In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from Czechoslovakia (B), FRG (B) and Poland (A) were still tied with no penalty points. The team from Austria was on the 6th place, the A-team from Germany on the 11th place.

In the club ranking, the only ADAC Gau Nordbayern still free of penalty points led ahead of KAMK Pardubice and OAMK Kladno.

Eleven drivers dropped out of the competition.

5th day

The intermediate results after the fifth day of driving: In the trophy, as before, the FRG team with no penalty points led ahead of Czechoslovakia and Great Britain. Erwin Lechner dropped out of the Austrian team , the team continued to occupy fourth place.

In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from Czechoslovakia (B), FRG (B) and Poland (A) were still tied without any penalty points. The team from Austria was still on the 5th place, the A-team from Germany on the 11th place.

As on the day before, the club ranking was led by the only ADAC Gau Nordbayern still free of penalty points, ahead of KAMK Pardubice and OAMK Kladno.

Seven drivers dropped out of the competition.

6th day

On the last day, a stage and the final race (speed test) were driven.

Four drivers dropped out of the competition. Of the 241 drivers who started on the first day, 117 made it to the finish.
