49th International six-day trip
The 49th international six-day race was the team world championship in enduro sport and took place from 9 to 14 September 1974 in Camerino, Italy, and in the Umbrian-Marcese Apennines . The national teams of the ČSSR were able to win the trophy ranking for the twelfth and fifth time in a row and the silver vase ranking for the fourteenth time.

The event was held in Italy for the sixth time, after the 13th (1931), 14th (1932), 23rd (1948), 26th (1951) and 43rd International Six-Day Race (1968) had already been awarded to Italy.
Active and supervisors were accommodated in boarding houses of the University of Camerino .
326 drivers from 18 FIM motorsport associations were registered for the competition . Teams from 14 nations competed for the trophy standings. In addition, 19 silver vase, 42 factory and 25 club teams were at the start.
BRD and GDR each took part in the World Trophy as well as with two and one silver vase team. In addition, five German club teams were at the start. Switzerland took part in the World Trophy, Austria provided a silver vase team.
1 day
Of the 326 registered riders, 300 started the competition. The route was a circuit to be driven three times with a total length of 326 km, which was also the longest day's stage. The weather was appropriate to the season and free of precipitation.
Shortly after the start, the first of the two special tests was an acceleration test with volume measurement. The second was a field test.
In the trophy standings, the FRG team led, ahead of the ČSSR team and the Italian team. The GDR followed in 4th place, Switzerland took 10th place.
In the silver vase evaluation, the Italian B-team led ahead of the A-team and the B-team of the ČSSR. The A and B teams of the FRG followed in 5th and 6th place respectively. The GDR took 8th place.
20 drivers dropped out of the competition.
2 day
The route of the second day was laid out in principle like that of the previous day. A circuit to be driven three times of 93 km each and a 20 km approach from Camerino.
The special stages were the same as the day before.
In the trophy standings, the ČSSR team led, ahead of the GDR team and the Great Britain team. The Swiss team improved to 7th place. The FRG slipped to 11th place.
In the silver vase scoring, Italy's B team led ahead of the ČSSR B and A teams. The Austrian team was still 8th.
28 drivers were eliminated from the competition, one of which did not start and two were excluded.
3rd day
The route was almost identical to the second day and had to be driven in the opposite direction. The weather at the start was foggy with poor visibility, but this dissolved in the course of the day.
The special tests were the same as before.
As on the previous day, the team from the Czechoslovak Republic led the trophy standings, ahead of the team from the GDR and the team from Great Britain. The Swiss team slipped to 9th place, the FRG improved to 10th place.
In the silver vase evaluation, the B-team led the A-team of the ČSSR and the B-team of Italy. The Austrian team improved to 8th place.
18 drivers dropped out of the competition, two of which did not start anymore.
4th day
The total length of the route was 299 km. During the course, a circuit of 85 km each had to be driven three times. The weather was free of precipitation.
The special stages were the same as on the previous days.
In the trophy standings, the ČSSR team was ahead of the Italian team and the Swedish team. The GDR team was in 5th place, Switzerland improved to 8th place.
In the silver vase evaluation, the B-team of the ČSSR led ahead of the A-team of Italy and the A-team of the ČSSR. The Austrian team improved to 5th place. The FRG A and B team followed in 8th and 10th place respectively. The GDR took 9th place.
61 drivers dropped out of the competition.
5th day
The route followed the principle of the previous days: 299 km route length, in the course of which a circuit to be completed three times. The weather was still free of precipitation.
In the trophy standings, the ČSSR team led ahead of the Swedish and Italian teams. The GDR team slipped to 6th place and Switzerland to 9th place.
In the silver vase evaluation, the B-team of the ČSSR continued ahead of the A-team of Italy and the A-team of the ČSSR. The Austrian team slipped to 6th place. The A and B teams of the FRG followed unchanged compared to the previous day in 8th and 10th place respectively. The GDR occupied 9th place unchanged.
9 drivers dropped out of the competition.
6th day
The last stage of the day was 126 km. The weather was sunny.
The final motocross race, the last special stage, took place on the Esanatoglia World Championship course, which was shortened to 2 km . The drivers in the classes up to and including 75 cm³ had to complete five laps, all others seven. The lap times were used to determine the good points; penalty points were awarded for each lap not driven. The jury subsequently reduced the target number of laps to four or six and rated them accordingly.
Of the 300 drivers who started on the first day, 164 made it to the finish line.

The national team of the Federal Republic of Germany was withdrawn by its team management after the third day of driving and was thus eliminated from the competition.
The Belgian national team also dropped out of the competition.
