86th International Six-Day Trip

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 86th international six-day race was the team world championship in enduro sport and took place from August 8th to 13th, 2011 in the Finnish administrative community Kotka-Hamina and the surrounding area. Host Finland's national team won the World Trophy for the eighth time. The French national teams won the Junior World Trophy for the third time and the Women's Trophy for the fourth time in a row.

competition

organization

The event took place for the second time in Finland after the 71st International Six-Day Race (1996).

17 teams for the World Trophy, 14 for the Junior World Trophy, five for the Women's Trophy and 63 club teams from a total of 27 nations took part in the competition. The parc fermé was on a pier in the port of Kotka .

Germany took part in the World Trophy and Junior World Trophy as well as with six club teams. Switzerland took part in the World Trophy and Junior World Trophy. Drivers from Austria did not start.

1 day

The day started with heavy rain that lasted all morning. As a result, mud holes formed on the stage, which made rocky and root-covered sections extremely slippery.

After the first day of driving, the host team from Finland led in the World Trophy ranking ahead of Spain and Australia. The German team was 11th, the Swiss team 14th.

In the Junior Trophy classification, the Swedish team was ahead of France and Great Britain. The German team was 9th, the Swiss team 14th. In the German team, Benjamin Liebl retired due to a technical defect: the chain guide broke on stones. A repair was only a short remedy, later he could no longer repair himself. However, he did not give up yet and pushed his motorcycle for miles until he fell out of the classification at the following time control.

In the Women's Trophy, the French team led the teams from Sweden and Finland.

The club ranking led Team Ostra Junior ahead of Team West and Husaberg-Czech. The best German club team was the ADMV DMSB 3 team in 14th place.

2 day

The route on the second day was identical to the first day of driving. In the morning another heavy rain shower came down.

As on the previous day, the World Trophy classification was led by the team from Finland, ahead of Spain and the USA. The German team improved to 10th place, the Swiss team was on 14th place. Ralf Scheidhauer left the German team due to a technical defect in the clutch and, as a result, in the cylinder head gasket.

In the Junior Trophy classification, the Swedish team continued to lead ahead of France and Great Britain. The German team was still in 9th place, the Swiss team improved to 13th place.

In the Women's Trophy, the French team continued to lead the teams from Finland and Sweden.

Team West led the club ranking ahead of Husaberg-Czech and Wellard Club Team. The best German club team was the ADMV DMSB 3 team in 11th place.

3rd day

The driving day was again characterized by rain showers, which prompted the race management to do a special stage on the second lap to shorten demanding sections.

In the World Trophy standings, the team from Finland continued to lead ahead of Spain and the USA. The German team improved to 9th, the Swiss team to 12th place.

The Swedish team led the Junior Trophy ranking ahead of France and Great Britain. The German team slipped to 11th, the Swiss team to 14th and last place.

In the Women's Trophy, the French team led the teams from Finland and Australia.

As on the day before, the club ranking led Team West ahead of Husaberg-Czech and Wellard Club Team. The best German club team was the ADMV DMSB 3 team in 10th place.

4th day

On the fourth day it was also heavily rainy. That is why the routing of the special stages had already been adjusted before the start.

At the end of the fourth day of driving, the team from Finland continued to lead in the World Trophy ranking ahead of Spain and the USA. The German team improved to 6th place, the Swiss team was unchanged on 12th place.

In the Junior Trophy classification, the French team led ahead of Sweden and Great Britain. The German team improved to 10th place, the Swiss team was unchanged on 14th place.

In the Women's Trophy, the French team was ahead of the teams from Finland and Australia.

Husaberg-Czech led the club ranking ahead of Team West and Wellard Club Team. The best German club team was the ADMV DMSB 3 team in 9th place.

5th day

The day started sunny and there was no precipitation. A special stage that had to be run twice was canceled without replacement before the start, as the track surface there had deteriorated extremely in the last few days.

The intermediate results after the fifth day of driving: In the World Trophy standings, the team from Finland continued ahead of Spain and the USA. The German team was still in 6th place, the Swiss team slipped to 15th place.

In the Junior Trophy, the French team continued ahead of Sweden and Great Britain. The German team remained unchanged in 10th place, the Swiss team improved to 13th place.

In the Women's Trophy, the French team continued to lead the teams from Finland and Australia.

As on the day before, the club ranking led Husaberg-Czech ahead of Team West and Wellard Club Team. The best German club team was the ADMV DMSB 3 team in 8th place.

6th day

The final race took place on the motocross track of the "Karhulan Moottorikerho" north of Kotka.
