37th international six-day trip

The 37th International Six-Day Ride was an off-road motorcycle competition that took place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Werdenfelser Land from September 17-22, 1962 . The national team of Czechoslovakia was able to win the trophy for the seventh time. The national team of the FRG won the silver vase for the first time.

Under current since 1961, by DSB -Vorstand and NOK bureau combined Düsseldorf decisions was denied East German athletes to participate in the event.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen was the venue for the event for the fourth time after the 16th (1934), 31st (1956) and 33rd (1958).

The host was the Allgemeine Deutsche Automobil-Club eV (ADAC), Gau Südbayern.

300 drivers from 16 FIM motorsport associations were registered for the competition . Teams from seven nations competed for the trophy standings. There were also 18 silver vase teams at the start.

1 day

Of the 300 registered riders, 286 started the competition.

In the trophy standings, the team was led by Czechoslovakia, ahead of Great Britain and Germany.

In the silver vase evaluation, the B-team from Germany led ahead of the team from Finland and the A-team from Germany. The A team in Switzerland was in 9th place, the B team in 15th place. The Austrian team was on 17th and penultimate place.

2 day

In the trophy standings, the team from Czechoslovakia was ahead of Italy and Poland.

In the silver vase evaluation, the B-team from Germany was ahead of the B-team from Great Britain and the A-team from Czechoslovakia. The Austrian team improved to 13th place. The Swiss B-team took 15th place, followed by the German A-team. The Swiss A team slipped to 17th place.

3rd day

In the trophy standings, the team from Czechoslovakia led ahead of Great Britain and the team from the Soviet Union.

In the silver vase evaluation, as on the day before, the B-team from Germany led ahead of the B-team from Great Britain and the A-team from Czechoslovakia. The Austrian team improved to 10th place. The two Swiss teams were in 15th (B team) and 16th place (A team). The German A team took 17th place.

4th day

In the trophy standings, Czechoslovakia continued to lead, ahead of Great Britain and the team from the Soviet Union.

As on the day before, the B-team from Germany led the B-team from Great Britain and the A-team from Czechoslovakia in the silver vase evaluation. The Austrian team improved to 9th place. The Swiss B-team was in 15th place, followed by the German A-team and the A-team from Switzerland, which took 17th place.

5th day

In the trophy standings, the team from Czechoslovakia continued to lead, ahead of Great Britain and the team from the Soviet Union.

In the silver vase evaluation, the B-team from Germany was also unchanged ahead of the B-team from Great Britain and the A-team from Czechoslovakia. The Austrian team improved to 8th place. The Swiss B team was still in 15th place, followed by the German A team (16th place) and the A team from Switzerland (17th place).

6th day

Of the 286 riders who started on the first day, 200 made it to the finish.
