23. International six-day trip
The 23rd International Six-Day Tour was an off-road motorcycle competition that took place from September 14th to 19th, 1948 in Sanremo, Italy, and the Ligurian Alps . The national teams of Great Britain won the World Trophy for the twelfth time and the silver vase for the ninth time.

The event took place for the third time in Italy after the 13th (1931) and 14th International Six-Day Tour (1932).
170 drivers were registered for the competition. Teams from seven nations competed for the trophy. There were also twelve silver vase teams at the start.
German drivers and teams were not at the start. Austria took part in the World Trophy, Switzerland with two silver vase teams.

151 of the 170 registered drivers took up the competition.
In the World Trophy, the teams from Great Britain and Czechoslovakia were tied without penalty points. In third place were the teams from Austria and Belgium with 6 penalty points each.
In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from the Netherlands (A and B), Great Britain (A) and Belgium were still without penalty points and were tied.
2 day
In the World Trophy, the teams from Great Britain and Czechoslovakia continued to have no penalty points and were tied. Third place went to the Belgian team, followed by the Austrian team in 4th place.
In the silver vase evaluation of the Netherlands (A and B) and Great Britain (A) without penalty points and were tied.
3rd day
On the third day, the route from the previous day was driven in the opposite direction.
In the World Trophy, the teams from Great Britain and Czechoslovakia were still free of penalty points and were tied. Third place went to the Austrian team.
In the silver vase evaluation of the Netherlands (A) and Great Britain (A) without penalty points and were tied.
4th day
In the World Trophy, the UK team led ahead of Austria and Czechoslovakia.
In the silver vase evaluation, the A-teams of the Netherlands and Great Britain were still without penalty points and were equal. Third place went to the A team from Czechoslovakia.
5th day
In the World Trophy, the team from Great Britain continued to lead ahead of Austria and the team from Czechoslovakia.
The A-team from Great Britain led the A-team from Czechoslovakia and the A-team from the Netherlands in the silver vase classification.
6th day
The final race (speed test) was held on the last day.
