76th international six-day trip

The 76th international six-day race was the team world championship in enduro sport and took place from August 27 to September 1, 2001 in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France, and the surrounding area. Host France's national team won the World Trophy for the second time. The Junior World Trophy went to Italy for the fourth time.

The event took place in France for the third time, after the 55th (1980) and 63rd International Six-Day Races (1988) had already been awarded to the country.

18 teams from a total of 24 nations took part in the teams for the World Trophy, 12 for the Junior Trophy and 104 for the Club Team Award.

Germany took part in the World and Junior World Trophy and with four club teams. Switzerland took part in the World Trophy and with three club teams. A club team was at the start for Austria.

1 day

The first stage of the day led east to Argentat . From there, two identical laps had to be completed before returning to the starting point on the same route. A total of 310 kilometers as well as four motocross and two enduro tests had to be completed.

After the first day of driving, the team from France led in the World Trophy ahead of Australia and Sweden. The German team was 8th, the Swiss team 14th. With Markus Hediger , the Swiss team already had a driver absence.

In the Junior World Trophy, the Swedish team was ahead of Italy and France. The German team was in 7th place.

2 day

On the second day the same stage as the day before (including special stages) was driven.

The team from Sweden led the World Trophy ahead of France and Australia. The German team slipped to 10th place after the failure of Arne Domeyer . The Swiss team slipped to 15th place.

In the Junior World Trophy, the Swedish team continued to lead ahead of Italy and France. The German team was still in 7th place.

3rd day

The route of the third day led again first in an easterly direction to Aubazines . From there, two identical laps with two motocross and one enduro test per lap had to be completed, in the end it was the same route from Aubazines back to the starting point. Route length: 292 kilometers.

In the World Trophy, the team from France led ahead of Sweden and Australia. The German team was on 10th place, the Swiss team on 15th place.

The Junior World Trophy led Italy ahead of Sweden and Spain. The German team was unchanged in 7th place.

4th day

On the fourth day, the route from the previous day had to be driven in the opposite direction.

At the end of the fourth day of driving, the team from France continued to lead ahead of Sweden and Australia in the World Trophy. The German team improved to 7th place, the Swiss team to 13th place.

In the Junior World Trophy, as on the day before, the Italian team led ahead of Sweden and Spain. The German team was still in 7th place.

5th day

The route led north to Travassac, from where two laps of identical laps had to be driven. The length of the day's stage was 283 kilometers and there were four motocross and two enduro tests to be completed.

The intermediate results after the fifth day of driving: In the World Trophy, the team from France led ahead of Italy and Spain. The German team improved to 6th, the Swiss team to 11th place.

In the Junior World Trophy, the Italian team continued to lead ahead of Sweden and Spain. The German team improved to 6th place.

6th day

On the last day, a short transfer stage of 67 kilometers with the destination Uzerche was driven, where the final motocross was held as the last special stage of the competition.
