Christoph Seifert

Christoph Seifert (born December 16, 1977 in Marienberg ) is a former German enduro athlete . He was German champion in 2003 and member of the German national team at the international six-day race several times .

Career

Christoph Seifert first rode a motorcycle when he was eight years old. In 1993 he contested his first motocross race and in 1995 his first enduro race.

From 1996 he started in the German Enduro Cup (championship of the B license drivers) for Harald Sturm's KTM team . At the end of the season he finished 4th in the class ranking. He was able to defend this result the following year. In 1998 he won the German Enduro Cup in the overall and in the class in the class up to 400 cm³. He also won the Saxon Enduro Championship.

In 1999 Christoph Seifert started in the German Enduro Championship . In the class up to 400 cm³ he was fifth. With the German team, he was seventh in the junior ranking at the International Six-Day Race in Portugal. In 2000 he switched to Bert von Zitzewitz's KTM works team . In the class over 500 cm³ four-stroke he was third in the German championship and again Saxony champion. In the Enduro World Championship he was 12th in his class. At the international six-day race in Spain, he was fifth with the junior team.

In 2001 he became runner-up in the German championship. With the German trophy team, he finished seventh in the international six-day race. In the world championship he was eleventh. He could not build on these achievements in the following year. In the German championship he was fourth. He finished seventh in the European Enduro Championship .

In 2003 he won the German Enduro Championship in the class up to 500 cm³ four-stroke. With the German trophy team he was sixth in the international six-day race in Brazil. In the class ranking he also achieved sixth place. In the Enduro European Championship he was runner-up with the team. In 2004 he suffered a shoulder injury in a World Championship run and was therefore unable to take part in any German Championship run.

In 2005 he was second in the class up to 500 cm³ four-stroke in the German Enduro Championship. In 2006 he switched to Thomas Mäser's ZUPIN - Husqvarna team. Due to another shoulder injury, he was only able to drive three rounds to the German championship. In the final bill, it was only enough for a 13th place in the class ranking.

In 2007 he moved back to Bert von Zitzewitz's BVZ team. This year he won the newly created DMSB Enduro Power Cup for two-cylinder motorcycles over 750 cm³. In the Enduro European Championship he was fifth. In 2008 he started on a KTM 690 in class E3 in the German championship. In the end, he finished seventh in the class.

After the end of his contract with BVZ, he started for Suzuki in 2009 . In the German Enduro Championship he achieved seventh place in class E2. In his last active year of competition, 2010, he started again for Harald Sturm's KTM team and finished fourth in class E3 and 13th in the overall standings.

Christoph Seifert works in the public sector today. In addition, he works as an enduro trainer in Jens Scheffler 's enduro school .
