Harald Sturm (born January 20, 1956 in Witzschdorf ) is a former enduro athlete . He was a four-time European champion, among others a and was part of the victorious Six Days Trophy team of 1987 .

Life

Harald Sturm began his active career in 1974. In the same year he became GDR junior champion in the 250 cm³ card class at that time. That is why he was appointed to the MZ works team and took part in European championship runs just a year later . In the same year he took part in the Six Days as an individual starter and was runner-up in the GDR. As a member of the Six Days Trophy team, he finished third in 1976 and second in 1977 and 1978. He won the GDR championship title for the first time in 1978, which he repeated in 1980, 1981 and 1985. At the European Championships he was second from 1979 to 1981 and third in 1982. From 1983 to 1986 he was European Enduro Champion in the 250 cm³ class. In 1987 he was a member of the victorious GDR Six Days Trophy team.

In 1990 he moved from MZ to KTM . Until 1995 he drove national championship races, after which he only devoted himself to running his two-wheeler business in Zschopau.

He is currently also the head of the enduro sport team "Team Sturm Zschopau".
