62nd international six-day trip
The 62nd international six-day race was the team world championship in enduro sport , motorcycle off-road sport , and took place from September 21 to 26, 1987 in Jelenia Góra, Poland, and in the Giant Mountains . The national teams of the GDR were able to win the World Trophy for the seventh time and the Junior World Trophy for the second time. So far, these are the last victories of a German national team in this competition. A German victory was also achieved for the last time at the club championship.

After the 42nd International Six-Day Race (1967), the event took place in Poland for the second time.
Teams from 19 and 14 nations competed for the World and Junior World Trophy. There were also 25 factory and 61 club teams at the start.
The GDR, FRG and Austria each took part in the World and Junior World Trophy. Switzerland took part in the World Trophy. In addition, 11 West German, 3 Austrian and one GDR club team were at the start.
A total of 1,475 km had to be driven. In addition to the special tests, a motocross section over 3.5 km with timekeeping had to be completed twice within each stage of the first five days of driving. The opening ceremony took place in front of over 20,000 spectators at the Karkonosze stadium in Jelenia Góra.
1 day
A total of 403 drivers from 24 nations started the competition. The start was in the stadium of Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój . In the day's stage, 293 km had to be driven in two identical laps. The weather was mild and free of rain for the time of year.
The two special stages: an acceleration test over 200 m shortly after the start and, in the second lap, an off-road test in the mountains.
In the World Trophy, the GDR team led, ahead of the France team and the ČSSR team.
In the Junior World Trophy, the GDR team led the Italian team and the Finnish team.
28 drivers dropped out of the competition.
2 day
The weather was still mild and free of precipitation.
During the second day's stage, an acceleration test and a mountain test over 4.6 km in length at Świeradów-Zdrój had to be completed as special tests.
In the World Trophy, the GDR team led, ahead of Italy and Poland.
At the Junior World Trophy, the Italian team was ahead of the GDR and Finland team.
16 drivers dropped out of the competition.
3rd day
The weather on the third day was humid with a slightly overcast sky.
On special tests, an acceleration test over 200 m and an off-road test on very undulating ground have to be completed.
In the World Trophy, the team from the GDR was ahead of the team from Italy and the team from Sweden.
At the Junior World Trophy, the Italian team continued ahead of the GDR and Finland team.
Eight drivers dropped out of the competition, one of which did not start again.
4th day
There had already been a thunderstorm the evening of the previous day and on the fourth day it kept raining heavily, which in places made the road surface very soft. Because of this, the field test was shortened and relocated in places.
As on the previous day, the GDR team led the World Trophy, ahead of Italy and Sweden.
In the Junior World Trophy, the GDR team led the Italian team and the French team.
57 drivers dropped out of the competition, three of them did not start anymore.
5th day
The length of the day's stage was 253 km. The weather was cool and free of precipitation.
The two special tests, the acceleration test and the off-road test, had to be driven again.
In the World Trophy, the team from the GDR was still leading, ahead of the team from Italy and the team from Sweden.
At the Junior World Trophy, the GDR team led the Italian team and the USA team.
16 drivers were eliminated from the competition, one of which did not start.
6th day
The day's stage was only 69 km. The day started sunny, later the sky became cloudy and there was no precipitation.
The final race was a motocross course on a mountain meadow near Jeżów Sudecki . Around 40,000 spectators were guests. The groups were put together according to the classes.
Three drivers dropped out of the competition. Of the 403 riders who started on the first day, 275 reached the finish.
