16. International six-day trip
The 16th International Six-Day Ride was an off-road motorcycle competition that took place from August 27 to September 1, 1934 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Werdenfelser Land . The national team of the German Reich was able to defend the trophy won for the first time last year. The silver vase won the British national team for the eighth and third time in a row.

After the German Reich won the trophy for the first time last year, the German Motorsport Association was given the right to host the competition in its own country.
220 drivers from nine FICM motorsport associations were registered for the competition . Teams from four nations competed for the trophy. There were also twelve silver vase, 33 factory and 24 club teams at the start.
1 day
Of the 220 registered drivers, 209 started the competition.
On the first day of the journey, the approximately 350-kilometer route led via Wallgau , Bad Tölz , Bad Wiessee , Kreuth , Spitzingsee , Neuhaus , Brannenburg , Rosenheim , Miesbach , Bad Tölz, Kochel am See , the Kesselbergstrasse (uphill) and Klais back to the starting point Garmisch- Partenkirchen.
In the Trophy ranking, the teams from the German Reich, Italy and Czechoslovakia were tied without penalty points. In the fourth, British team, Albert E. Perrigo received one penalty point.
In the silver vase evaluation, only the A-team of the German Reich received penalty points because A. Müller was eliminated from the competition.
Six drivers dropped out of the competition.
2 day
On the second day of the competition, the drivers had to cover another 350 kilometers. The route led via Wallgau, Jachenau , Kesselbergstrasse (downhill), Kochel, Bad Tölz, Miesbach, Rosenheim, Brannenburg, Neuhaus, Spitzingsee, Rottach , Bad Tölz and Mittenwald to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. A section of the route near fading was canceled after the jury had met at the end of the driving day.
In the trophy evaluation, the teams of the German Reich and Italy were still without penalty points and were tied. In the team of Czechoslovakia František Brand received 110 penalty points.
In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from the German Reich (B), Great Britain (A and B), the Netherlands (A and B), Ireland (A and B), Italy (B) and Czechoslovakia were still without penalty points and were tied. Austria's silver vase driver O. Steinfellner received 7 penalty points and the team was 10th.
19 drivers dropped out of the competition.
3rd day
The third stage was the longest of the event at around 500 kilometers. After starting in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, it went over Oberau , over the Ettaler Sattel , Oberammergau , Murnau , Bad Tölz, Gmund , Schliersee , Holzhausen , Bernau am Chiemsee , Reit im Winkl , Inzell , Schneizlreuth , Berchtesgaden , Bad Reichenhall , Teisendorf , Traunstein , Seebruck , Rosenheim, Miesbach, Bad Tölz, Altlach and Wallgau back to the starting point.
There was no change in the Trophy rating compared to the previous day. The teams of the German Reich and Italy were tied without penalty points, followed by Great Britain and Czechoslovakia.
In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from the German Reich (B), Great Britain (A and B), the Netherlands (A and B), Ireland (A and B), Italy (B) and Czechoslovakia were still free of penalty points and were not punished tied. The Austrian team took 9th place.
13 drivers dropped out of the competition.
The day of driving was overshadowed by an accident with a fatal outcome: The German driver A. Brandt (NSU factory team) rolled over and suffered a serious head injury. Soon afterwards he succumbed to serious injuries in the Traunstein Clinic.
4th day
The route of the fourth day of the journey was around 350 kilometers long and led via Elmau, Oberammergau, Steingaden , Marktoberdorf , Oy-Mittelberg , Sonthofen , Friesenhofen, Röthenbach, Weitnau , Rauhenzell , Fischen im Allgäu , Immenstadt and Missen to the day's destination in Oberstaufen .
In the trophy evaluation, the teams of the German Reich and Italy were still without penalty points and were tied. Great Britain followed with 1 penalty point and Czechoslovakia with 117 penalty points.
In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from the German Empire (B), Great Britain (B), the Netherlands (B), Ireland (B), Italy (B) and Czechoslovakia were still without penalty points and were tied. The Austrian team took 7th place.
13 drivers dropped out of the competition.
5th day
The route on the fifth day was around 340 kilometers. It started in Oberstaufen and then led via Missen, Immenstadt, Fischen, Hindelang , the Oberjochpass , Wertach , Rettenberg , Wertach, Füssen , Oberammergau and Elmau to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
In the trophy standings, the teams of the German Reich and Italy were still without penalty points and were tied, with Great Britain in third place. In the Czechoslovak team, František Brand was eliminated from the competition.
In the silver vase rating, only the B teams from Great Britain and Ireland were free of penalty points. In the A-team of the German Reich, F. Trägerner received 26 penalty points. In the B team of the German Reich, H. Soenius received 9 and N. Schmitt 5 penalty points. The Austrian team now took 3rd place.
19 drivers dropped out of the competition.
6th day
The last stage of the day led after the start in Garmisch-Partenkirchen via Oberammergau, Steingaden, Füssen, Nesselwang , Rettenberg, Sulzberg and Marktoberdorf to Füssen.
The winning team in the respective competitions was determined in the final speed test on a triangular road course from Füssen.
In the Trophy classification, there were no changes in the placements compared to the previous day until the start of the final race.
In the silver vase rating, the B teams from Great Britain and Ireland were tied without any penalty points. In the day's stage, the Austrians Hans Walz received 2 penalty points and O. Steinfellner 1 penalty point.
Five drivers dropped out of the competition. Of the 209 riders who started on the first day, 134 reached the finish.
