history
Until the church is planted
Wilhams was part of the Austrian rule of Bregenz-Hohenegg. Missen and the county of Königsegg-Rothenfels were swapped to Austria in 1804. Since the peace treaties of Brno and Pressburg in 1805, the places have belonged to the newly formed Kingdom of Bavaria .
On January 1, 1959, the previously independent municipalities of Missen and Wilhams were merged to form the new municipality of Missen-Wilhams .

Martina Wilhelm (CSU / UWG) has been mayor since May 1, 2020; she was elected from two candidates with 81.8% of the vote. Her predecessor was Hans-Ulrich von Laer (CSU / Free Voters / ÖDP), in office from 2008 to 2020.
Municipal council
In the election on March 15, 2020 , only the joint nomination of the CSU, Free Voters, ÖDP and UWG with 20 applicants was available; the twelve candidates with the most votes entered the municipal council. The turnout was 71.12%.
