history

Until the church is planted

Stone Age finds in the Regis indicate people from prehistoric times, Celts and Romans settled here, a 100 m square floor plan in the middle of the village may be the result of this. Swabian settlers cleared the woodland and operated the plow. Dietmar (from him - Dietmar's clearing - the name Dietmannsried was derived) and Rich (w) olf, also a provost (office administrator or church dignitary), have become well-known.

The castle Dietmannsried in the Inselweiher Dietmannsried is said to come from Merovingian times , during the Frankish times Hildegard , wife of Charlemagne , donated large areas in the vicinity to the Benedictine monastery Kempten, and Dietmannsried was mentioned by name.

The prince monastery of Kempten awarded Dietmannsried in 1176 as a service loan to the von Ueberbach, who were the patron saints of the church in Dietmannsried. A village court was established in 1403. From 1478 the von Rechberg ruled over Dietmannsried, from these the rule went back to the prince monastery Kempten in 1512/1519. Dietmannsried was granted market rights in 1586.

Before 1800, the Dietmannsried market was the seat of an upper and lower court and belonged to the Kempten monastery . Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss and the secularization of 1803 the place belongs to Bavaria. In 1818 the community was founded. Dietmannsried had market rights with important proprietary rights since 1586 .
