Überbach is a district of the Allgäu market Dietmannsried in the Bavarian-Swabian district of Oberallgäu .

location

The church village lies in the open on the northern edge of the Oberallgäu, about 2 km east of Dietmannsried. The state road in 2377 touched the place in the north and leads to 500 meters from the highway A 7 (driveway 132 "Dietmannsried"). Neighboring villages are Dietmannsried, Rauhmühle, Sandbühl and Unterwengen.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1176 as Überunterbach . The name means "beyond the brook" or "at the upper brook". After changing owners in the Middle Ages and modern times , Überbach became part of the Dietmannsried community, but left it again in 1844 and became independent. In addition to the main town, the community consisted of the districts Hinter der Lange Zeil, Kassier and Sandbühl. On January 1, 1972, it was reintegrated into the Dietmannsried market as part of the municipal reform.

economy

Resident companies are tile walker, carpentry and joinery Menzler. The Limex Center is also located in the village.
