Probstried is a district of the Allgäu market Dietmannsried in the Bavarian-Swabian district of Oberallgäu and had around 1,900 inhabitants in 2013.

location

The parish village is located on the northern edge of the Oberallgäu, about 3.5 km east of Dietmannsried.

history

Probstried was first mentioned in 1358. The medieval parish church was redesigned from 1666 to 1683, the nave was expanded in 1738/40.

On January 1, 1978, the independent community of Probstried, which had been re-established on November 23, 1863 by being separated from Dietmannsried, was reintegrated into the Dietmannsried market.

St. Cornelius and Cyprian
