Karin Dedler-Feigele (born February 2, 1963 in Dietmannsried ) is a former German ski racer . She achieved her best results in the fast downhill and super-G disciplines . Dedler won the bronze medal in the downhill at the 1989 World Cup , was two-time German champion and achieved three podium places in the Ski World Cup .
biography
After graduating from high school, Dedler began studying sports at the University of Munich . She scored her first points in the Ski World Cup on December 8, 1984 in the Super-G in Davos , where she finished eighth. At the end of the season she also came eighth in the combination of Arosa . The next winter, her best result was ninth in the Vail Super-G .
At her first major event, the 1987 World Cup in Crans-Montana , Dedler finished twelfth in the downhill and 13th in the combination. At the end of winter, she achieved her best result of the season in the World Cup with sixth place in the downhill from Vail. In the winter of 1987/88, sixth place in the Leukerbad Super-G was also her best result. At the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary she started only in the combination and finished 14th. Surprisingly good results get her a year later at the 1989 World Championships in Vail. She won the bronze medal in the downhill , behind the Swiss Maria Walliser and only a hundredth of a second behind the second-placed Canadian Karen Percy, and came fifth in the giant slalom as the best German. She finished the Super-G in eleventh place.
In the 1989/90 season , Dedler also achieved their first podium places in the World Cup. In the runs from Haus im Ennstal on January 13th and Veysonnaz on February 4th, she took third place. So she reached seventh place in the Downhill World Cup. With several top ten placements in the Super-G, she came ninth in this discipline and eleventh in the overall World Cup. In the winter of 1990/91 the German achieved her best ever World Cup result: behind the French Carole Merle , she finished second in the Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on February 9, 1991 . Eleven days earlier, she finished 13th in the Super-G at the World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm . In other disciplines she was not at the start. In the Super G World Cup, Dedler reached fourth place with her team colleague Katja Seizinger tied . At the German championships she won the downhill and the Super-G.
In the following season 1991/92 Dedler denied their last World Cup races. The best results were fifth in the downhill from Schruns and sixth in the downhill from Serre Chevalier . After the Olympic Games in 1992, she ended her career.
