Hans-Georg von der Marwitz
Hans-Georg von der Marwitz (born April 8, 1961 in Heidelberg ) is a German farmer, has been a member of the German Bundestag since autumn 2009 and President of the Working Group of German Forest Owner Associations since 2019 .
Life
He comes from the Neumark Uradelsgeschlecht which von der Marwitz . Born as the son of Pastor Friedrich von der Marwitz in Heidelberg, he spent his childhood and youth in Aha near Gunzenhausen (Middle Franconia), in Lauben and in Missen-Wilhams , the family farm.
In 1985 he completed his training as a state-certified farmer. Various internships followed on farms with different production focuses in North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Scotland and England. In November 1986, Hans-Georg von der Marwitz took over his parents' farm Gut Maienhof in the Allgäu, which had been closed until then, and established the focus on wild game and poultry farming for direct marketing.
In 1990 the opportunity arose in Vierlinden-Friedersdorf in Brandenburg , one of the headquarters of the von der Marwitz family, to lease and buy larger arable land. He has been based in Friedersdorf since 1991. The farm in Friedersdorf covers around 1,000 hectares with a focus on cereals, legumes, maize and oilseeds, whereby the areas are cultivated according to ecological guidelines. He also owns 110 hectares of forest. Hans-Georg von der Marwitz is partner and managing director of Friedersdorfer Ackerbau GbR , Friedersdorfer Landwirtschafts GmbH , which among other things operates a biogas plant and provides agricultural services, as well as managing director of Dorfgut Friedersdorf GmbH & Co KG , which is economically active with a regional shop and restaurant is. He holds various offices in different social organizations. He has been a member of the Order of St. John since 1988 and works on the board of the Berlin / Brandenburg section. In January 2019, Hans-Georg von der Marwitz followed Philipp Franz zu Guttenberg in the office of honorary president of the Working Group of German Forest Owner Associations .
Hans-Georg von der Marwitz is married and has four children.

Hans-Georg von der Marwitz was a member of the Friedersdorf municipal council from 1993 to 2003 . Since the municipal reform in 2003, he has been the municipal representative in the municipality of Vierlinden . He has been a member of the Märkisch-Oderland district council since 1998 and was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from September 2008 to March 2010 . Since 2008 he has been a member of the CDU district committee in Märkisch-Oderland. Hans-Georg von der Marwitz was a direct candidate for the CDU in the Bundestag constituency of Märkisch-Oderland - Barnim II for the 2009 Bundestag election . He stood against Dagmar Enkelmann from the Left and Ravindra Gujjula from the SPD. He was defeated by the left candidate, but entered the German Bundestag via the Brandenburg state list.
Hans-Georg von der Marwitz is a full member of the Bundestag Committee on Food and Agriculture and a deputy member of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development . He also deals with energy policy and is an opponent of CO 2 capture and storage , in which he sees an environmental and economic wrong path. He renewed his resolute position against the establishment of CO 2 repositories after the so-called CCS law had passed the mediation committee and was confirmed by the Bundestag. He is critical of fracking technology . He underscored his advocacy of a sustainable energy transition when, in the roll call vote on October 28, 2010, as one of four members of the CDU parliamentary group, he voted against extending the life of nuclear power plants.
Hans-Georg von der Marwitz was chairman of the CDU Märkisch-Oderland from 2010 to 2014 . Marwitz was the country chairman of the Evangelical Working Group (EAK) Berlin-Brandenburg from September 2010 to November 2018 .
For the 2013 federal election, Hans-Georg von der Marwitz ran again for his previous constituency. In the election on September 22, 2013 Marwitz was able to win 10.4% of the first votes in the Bundestag constituency Märkisch-Oderland - Barnim II . With an initial vote of 34.0% in total, he decided the constituency for himself and moved directly elected into the German Bundestag. In contrast to 2009, the left candidate Dagmar Enkelmann was now defeated , who achieved a result of 32.9%.
In the federal election on September 24, 2017, he was able to regain the direct mandate with 28.4% of the votes.
Outside employment
In the 19th legislative period (as of August 2020) he received more than 2.2 million euros from secondary employment and was therefore in second place among the top earners from secondary employment at the time of the survey.
