The Bundestag constituency Märkisch-Oderland - Barnim II (constituency 59) is a constituency in Brandenburg for the elections to the German Bundestag . It includes the district of Märkisch-Oderland and, from the district of Barnim, the communities of Ahrensfelde , Bernau near Berlin , Panketal and Werneuchen . In the last general election, 226,424 residents were eligible to vote.

At the insistence of the local associations, Olaf Mangold also invested around € 10,000 of his own money in this election campaign. His hometown club Panketal spent 6,500 euros on the 2013 federal election campaign and its candidate.

history

The constituency was reorganized as part of the reorganization of the constituencies in Brandenburg before the federal election in 2002 from parts of the former constituencies Eberswalde - Bernau - Bad Freienwalde and Fürstenwalde - Strausberg - Seelow .

The entire Panketal office originally belonged to the constituency. After its dissolution in 2003, the former municipality of Börnicke went to the Bundestag constituency of Oberhavel - Havelland II before the 2005 federal elections . At the same time, the municipality of Marienwerder and the former municipality of Zerpenschleuse from the Uckermark - Barnim I constituency were added to the constituency. Before 2013, the constituency was number 60, since then it was number 59. For the 2017 federal election , the constituency gave the municipality of Wandlitz and the Biesenthal-Barnim office to the Uckermark - Barnim I constituency .
