Petra Bierwirth

Petra Bierwirth (born November 13, 1960 in Dresden ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1994 to 1998 she was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament and from 1998 to 2009 a member of the German Bundestag .

Life and work

After attending the polytechnic high school , Petra Bierwirth began an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for industrial, measurement, control and regulation technology in 1977 , which she finished in 1980. After a subsequent evening course, she graduated from high school in 1981 . After that, she graduated in technical cybernetics at the University of Leipzig , which she in 1986 as a graduate - engineering completed for technical cybernetics and automation systems. Then she worked for the water supply and wastewater treatment department in Berlin until 1994 (since 1991 Berliner Wasserbetriebe ). From 1990 to 1994 she was a member of the staff council . From 1995 to 1997 she completed an additional course in " Environmental Sciences and Environmental Protection " at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From November 1st, 2009 to March 30th, 2013 she was managing director of the children's aftercare clinic Berlin-Brandenburg gGmbH in Bernau near Berlin , district Waldsiedlung .

Petra Bierwirth is married and has two sons.

Political party

Petra Bierwirth has been a member of the SPD since 1990. From 1998 to 2010 she was chairwoman of the SPD subdistrict Barnim. On October 23, 2010 she was replaced by Daniel Kurth.

From 1990 to 1994 she was a member of the municipal council of her then place of residence Schönerlinde and at the same time also the district council of the Bernau district and from 1994 to 1996 of the Barnim district .

From 1994 to 1998 Petra Bierwirth was a member of the Landtag of Brandenburg . From 1996 she was environmental policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group .

From 1998 to 2009 she was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1999 to 2005 she was deputy environmental policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group . In the 16th legislative period (2005–2009) she was chair of the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety .

Petra Bierwirth entered the Bundestag in 1998 as a directly elected member of the Eberswalde - Bernau - Bad Freienwalde constituency and, since 2002, of the Märkisch-Oderland - Barnim II constituency . In the 2005 Bundestag election , she received 35.4% of the first votes .
