26. International six-day trip

The 26th International Six-Day Ride was an off-road motorcycle competition that took place from September 18 to 23, 1951 in Varese, Italy, and Lombardy . The national team of Great Britain won the World Trophy for the fifteenth and fourth time in a row. The national team of the Netherlands was able to win the silver vase for the third time.

The event took place for the fourth time in Italy after the 13th (1931), 14th (1933) and 23rd International Six-Day Tour (1948).

227 drivers from ten FIM motorsport associations were registered for the competition. Teams from three nations competed for the World Trophy. In addition, eleven silver vase, 25 factory and ten club teams were at the start.

FRG drivers took part with one club and seven factory teams. Austria took part in the World Trophy, a club and a factory team. Switzerland participated with two silver vase and two factory teams.

1 day

Of the 227 registered drivers, 220 took up the competition.

After the first day of driving, all three participating teams in the World Trophy were still without penalty points and were tied.

In the silver vase classification, only the A team from Switzerland (2, which meant 10th place) and the B team from Italy (100, which meant 11th place) had penalty points, after Angelo Troisi had already failed in the latter .

In the club teams, the Austrian team Ö.AMTC Vienna Wolf von Millenkovich was eliminated, making the team (on a par with the Spanish RMC Cataluna) in 10th place. All other club teams were still without penalty points and were tied.

15 drivers dropped out of the competition.

2 day

In the World Trophy, the teams from Great Britain and Austria were tied without penalty points. The Italian team had a driver failure with Orlando d'Ignazio and finished in 3rd place.

In the silver vase evaluation, the teams from the Netherlands (A and B), Great Britain (A and B), Sweden (A and B) and Italy (A) were still without penalty points and were tied. The A and B teams in Switzerland were 9th and 8th respectively.

In terms of club teams, the Austrian Ö.AMTC Vienna came last for the time being. With the exception of this one and the RMC Cataluna, the other teams were free of penalty points and were tied.

17 drivers were eliminated from the competition.

3rd day

In the World Trophy, the teams from Great Britain and Austria were still tied without penalty points. The Italian team took 3rd place.

In the silver vase classification, the teams from the Netherlands (B), Great Britain (A and B) and Sweden (A) were still without penalty points and were tied. The A and B teams in Switzerland were in 7th and 6th place respectively.

In the club ranking, the teams SMKS Stoccolma, Worchester AC (A), Newport - Gent MC and ADAC Hannover were tied without penalty points. The Ö.AMTC Vienna continued to occupy last place for the time being.

23 drivers dropped out of the competition.

4th day

At the end of the fourth day of driving, the teams from Great Britain and Austria were still tied with no penalty points. The Italian team took 3rd place.

In the silver vase classification, the teams from the Netherlands (A), Great Britain (A and B) and Sweden (A) were still without penalty points and were tied. The A and B teams in Switzerland were in 7th and 6th place respectively. In the latter, Paul Zaugg left.

In the club ranking, the teams SMKS Stoccolma and Newport - Gent MC were tied without penalty points, while Worchester AC (A) took 3rd place. The ADAC Hannover was in 5th place, the Ö.AMTC Vienna in 9th place.

Nine drivers dropped out of the competition.

5th day

The intermediate results after the fifth day of driving: In the World Trophy, the team from Great Britain with no penalty points led ahead of Austria (1 penalty point) and Italy (520 penalty points).

In the silver vase classification, the B-team from the Netherlands and the A-team from Great Britain were tied with no penalty points, with the A-team from Sweden following in third place. The A and B teams in Switzerland were in 7th and 6th place respectively.

In the club ranking, the teams SMKS Stoccolma and Newport - Gent MC were tied without penalty points, while Worchester AC (A) took 3rd place. The ADAC Hannover was on the 5th place, the Ö.AMTC Vienna on the 9th place.

Six drivers dropped out of the competition.

6th day

The final race took place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza .

On the last day, a stage and the final race (speed test) were driven. This took place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza . In the final race, a number of laps set for each class had to be achieved within one hour. The time gained under an hour was converted into good points, penalty points were awarded for exceeding the time.

Four drivers dropped out of the competition. Of the 220 riders who started on the first day, 146 reached the finish.
