Simone Albergoni (born September 15, 1981 in Treviglio ) is an Italian enduro athlete . He was a member of the victorious trophy team at the International Six Days in 2005 and multiple Italian champion.

Career

Inspired by her father's passion for enduro sports, Simone Albergoni also took an early interest in it. At the age of seven he received an electric motorcycle, with which he made his first attempts at driving.

Albergoni began his sporting career in 1996. In 1997 he became Italian champion in the 50 cc cadet class on a KTM . The following year he repeated his success in the 125cc cadet class. He also took part in the International Six-Day Tour in Australia for the first time.

In 1999 Fabio Farioli was appointed to the KTM factory team. This year he was European champion in the class up to 125 cm³, in the Italian junior championship he took second place in the same class and with the junior national team he came second in the international six-day race in Portugal.

In 2000 he was Italian junior champion in the class up to 125 cm³ and at the international six-day race in Spain he was second with the junior team. In 2001 he won the Six Days in France with the junior team and came third in the Italian Enduro Championship in the class up to 125 cm³. The following year he finished second in this class of the Italian championship. In the Enduro World Championship , he finished fifth in the class up to 125 cm³. At the world championship run in Sweden he was able to win his first victory of the day. In 2003 he was second in the Italian championship in the class up to 125 cm³.

In 2004 he moved to the Honda Jolly Racing team. With a 250 cm³ four-stroke machine he again won the championship in his class and was runner-up in the E1 class (up to 125 cm³ two-stroke / 250 cm³ four-stroke). The following year he defended his national title, in the world championship he finished fourth. He won the Six Days in Slovakia with the Italian trophy team. In 2006 he finished second in the world championship and in the Italian championship he defended his title.

From 2007 Albergoni started for the Ufo Corse team on a Yamaha 250 cc four-stroke. In the national championship he again defended his title, in the world championship he was runner-up in his class. The following year he defended his championship title again, was third in the World Cup and with the trophy team he took second place in the International Six-Day Race in Greece.

In 2009 he switched back to KTM in the KTM Enduro Factory team led by Fabio Farioli. He was able to repeat the successes of previous years again.
