The United States Pentagon Police (USPPD) is the official law enforcement agency of the United States Secretary of Defense and a subsidiary of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA).
The USPPD is the primary law enforcement agency for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. The agency's role is to provide law enforcement and security services for the Pentagon and other activities for the Secretary of Defense in the National Capital Region. These services include the surveillance and investigation of criminal offenses.

Known as the Defense Protective Service (DPS) until 2002, the U.S. Pentagon Police have exclusive jurisdiction within the Pentagon and coexist with other law enforcement agencies (federal, state, and local) in an area of approximately 275 acres (1.11 acres) Tomorrow) responsible for everything to do with the facility US Pentagon law enforcement officers are also responsible for rented properties from the Department of Defense throughout the National Capital Region and in the US Military Court of Appeals in Washington, DC. They are also charged with protecting various senior officials in the Department of Defense. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Arlington County, the U.S. Pentagon Police Department also has conditional police powers throughout Arlington County.

USPPD officers and agents are sworn federal officials appointed under Title 10 of Section 2674 of the United States Code. You will be trained at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco , Georgia .
The USPPD has a number of special units, including the Emergency Response Team, K-9, Mobile Patrol, Protective Services Unit, Criminal Investigation, the Training Division, the Evidence and Court Liaison, and the Recruiting Division. There was also a motorcycle unit until April 2015.

US Pentagon Police Criminal Investigations & Internal Affairs Directorate
The PPD Criminal Investigation and Home Affairs Division (CI / IAD) is tasked with investigating crime within the Pentagon and certain other designated DoD buildings owned by the US government and located in the National Capital Region (NCR) are rented. The CI / IAD is the investigative arm of the PPD and, as such, is responsible for responding to crimes that have been committed in the stated area of responsibility, and mainly for investigating them.
US Pentagon Police Canine Directorate
The Police Canine Division (K-9) is the explosives detection unit in and around the Washington DC area. Division K-9 is organized into multiple teams that provide both proactive and reactive law enforcement functions to ensure a safe working environment on the Pentagon reservation and related areas.
