The United States Mint Police (dt about. Münzpolizei the United States ) is a police department of the United States of America responsible for the safety of the US Treasury and subordinate Mint United States Mint 's responsibility.
The United States Mint Police was founded in 1792, making it one of the oldest federal institutions still in existence in the United States. It is based in Washington, DC . The current agency director is Dennis O'Connor (Associate Director for Protection / Chief, US Mint Police) .
The US Mint Police protects over $ 100 billion in government reserves, such as B. Precious metals and cash.
