The Cachalote Peak is a 549 m high and prominent mountain on South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It rises between Carlita Bay and Duck Bay northwest of Tweeny Point on the south side of the Lewin Peninsula .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013. It is named after the SS Cachalote , a supply ship for the Grytviken whaling station .
