Until December 31, 2014, Kleinsölk was an independent municipality with 585 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in Styria ( Schladming judicial district ). As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria, it was merged with the previously independent municipalities Großsölk and Sankt Nikolai im Sölktal to form the new municipality Sölk on January 1st, 2015 . The basis for this was the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.

Kleinsölk is located in the Political Expositur Gröbming in the Liezen district in the Austrian state of Styria .

There are no other cadastral communities apart from Kleinsölk. The districts of Winklmühle, Stein / Enns, Sölkdörfl, Dörfl, Gelsenberg, Reith, Vorderwald, Kleinsölk and Hinterwald are part of the Kleinsölk area.

Together with Sankt Nikolai im Sölktal and Großsölk , Kleinsölk forms the Sölktäler Nature Park , which was founded in 1976 and covers an area of ​​277 square kilometers.

history

Sölk was first mentioned in a document around 1075 to 1080. The abolition of the manorial lords took place in 1848. The local community as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to the Reichsgau Steiermark. On November 15, 1944, an American bomber crashed near the Putzental Alm. 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

On December 31, 2014, the community of Kleinsölk became independent. Together with Großsölk and Sankt Nikolai im Sölktal, it was merged into what is now the municipality of Sölk due to the structural reform of the Styrian community.

politics

Mayor was Karl Brandner (ÖVP) until December 31, 2014.

After the elections in 2010, the last municipal council was composed as follows: 5 ÖVP , 2 SPÖ and 2 FPÖ . This was also dissolved on December 31, 2014.
