Stephan Wirz

Stephan Wirz (* 1959 in Stuttgart ) is a Swiss ethicist . He teaches as adjunct professor at the Theological Faculty of the University of Lucerne with a focus on business , corporate and consumer ethics .

Life

Wirz was born in Stuttgart and his family moved to Vienna when he was seven. After a stopover in Gauting (near Munich) he came to The Hague , where he passed his Abitur . Wirz studied theology (graduate theologian), political science , economics and international law (Dipl. Sc. Pol. Univ.) At the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Before and during his doctoral studies ( Dr. theol. ) In Munich , he worked at the Schweizerische Kreditanstalt in Zurich. This was followed by five years at ABB in Baden (Switzerland). As a lecturer he taught ethics at the Aargau University of Applied Sciences . After completing his habilitation , he became a private lecturer in theological ethics at the University of Lucerne and was a lecturer and researcher at the Center for Religion, Economics and Politics at the Universities of Lucerne, the University of Zurich and the University of Basel . Since 2007 he has headed the Economics and Labor Department of the Paulus Academy . In 2012 he was elected adjunct professor of ethics at the theological faculty of the University of Lucerne . He was awarded the Hanns Seidel Foundation's Business Ethics Prize in 2012.

His main research interests are business, corporate and consumer ethics as well as leadership ethics.
