Horst Müller (politician)

Horst Müller (born August 7, 1942 in Bergneustadt ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was mayor of the Sauerland district town of Olpe .

Career

Horst Müller began his professional career at the Olpe district administration when he entered the public service in 1969. He graduated in 1972 with the career test for the higher non-technical service. He has been employed by the city of Olpe since 1975. In the same year he obtained his administrative diploma. In 1980 he was appointed treasurer of the city of Olpe. In 1985 he also became managing director of the municipal subsidiary "Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Olpe". The appointment as general representative of the city director took place in 1988. This was followed on March 1, 1991 by the appointment of city administrative director by the city council of Olpe. The appointment as the first full-time mayor of the city of Olpe followed in 1997. In the local elections he was confirmed in his office. His term of office ended on October 20, 2015.

Election results

In the 1999 municipal elections, Horst Müller was elected with 71.8 percent of the valid votes. In the election on September 26, 2004, he received 61.1 percent of the valid votes. In the most recent local election on August 30, 2009, he received 61.3 percent of the valid votes.

Private

Horst Müller has been married to his wife Marianne since 1971. He is a member of the St. Sebastianus Schützenverein Olpe and was its major (chairman) until 1997. Since 1964 he has been a member of the Corps Makaria Munich .
