Horst Pelzer

Horst Pelzer (* 1962 ) is a former German basketball referee .

Life

Pelzer, who comes from the Sportfreunde Eintracht Gevelsberg association, began his career as a referee in 1978 at the age of 16. In 1983 he became a referee expectation for the basketball district Ennepe-Ruhr.

Until 2013 , Pelzer , who worked as an insurance salesman in Ennepetal , headed games in the basketball league . In the first and second Bundesliga he came to a total of 828 missions. In 2009, Pelzer was named German Referee of the Year. With a special permit, he whistled in the top German league when he was over 50 years old. On the occasion of his farewell to the Bundesliga, he was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor of the German Basketball Association .
