Horst Stein (basketball player)

Horst Stein is a former German national basketball player . He was German champion six times with the USC Heidelberg .

career

Stein moved from Heidelberg TV in 1846 to city rivals USC Heidelberg and won the German championship title with the team in 1956/57. In 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961 and 1962, the Heidelberg native also won the title with the USC.

For the German national team, Stein ran among other things in 1957 and 1961 in the elimination rounds for the European Championships.

In 1962 he left the USC in the direction of KuSG Leimen . From 1963 to 1965 and from 1974 to 1977 and in the 1979/80 season, Stein was the coach of the Leimen men's team.

In 2009 Stein was awarded the silver badge of honor of the German Basketball Federation .
