Rudolf Horst Wehner (born February 24, 1952 in Pulsnitz ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). He was a member of the state parliament of Saxony from 2004 to 2019 .

Live and act

After graduating from high school, studies with a degree in state science. He is married and has one child. Wehner is non-denominational. Wehner was multiple German runner-up (2005 - Latin combination or 2011 and 2012 - standard combination) and is German champion in wheelchair dancing in 2015 (after 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012 - Latin combination and 2009 - Latin and standard duo).

Until 1989, Wehner was a member of the SED and several GDR organizations such as the FDJ , FDGB and DSF . On the list of the PDS , later Die Linkspartei.PDS (Die Linke.PDS) and Die Linke, he was a member of the city council in Chemnitz from 2004 to 2009 and of the Saxon state parliament since September 2004. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Die Linke party. Wehner is the spokesman for inclusion and senior policy in his parliamentary group as well as a deputy member of the Petitions Committee , Committee on School and Sport, Committee on Social Affairs and Consumer Protection, Equality and Integration and Committee on Rules of Procedure and Immunity Matters.

On November 12, 2014, he was elected the second Vice President of the Saxon State Parliament in the 6th legislative period . From 2009 to 2014 he was the second vice-president of the Saxon state parliament (5th electoral term). From 2004 to 2009 Horst Wehner was chairman of the parliament's committee for social affairs, health, family, women and youth.

He did not run for the 2019 state election .

Horst Wehner is the regional association chairman of the social association VdK Sachsen e. V. (state manager until February 2011) and chairman of the Chemnitz district association in the social association VdK Sachsen e. V., state chairman of the German Paritätischen Wohlfahrtsverband Landesverband Sachsen e. V. as well as President of the Saxon Choir Association. From 2004 to 2009 he was a member of the supervisory board of the EMC and a member of the supervisory board of the municipal theater in Chemnitz.
