The hoard of Sundveda ( Swedish Sundvedaskatten ) was found in 2008 during the excavation of a Stone Age grave in Steningehöjden, east of Sigtuna in Uppland in Sweden .

The coin treasure is the largest silver hoard found in Uppland since 1827. It consists of 482 oriental silver coins and some coins from Western Europe. The oriental ones were mostly coined in Damascus and Baghdad . Some come from North Africa . The Iranian coins date from the Sassanid period before the Islamization of Persia . All coins date from AD 600 to 840. They were probably found in or after the middle of the 9th century, during the Viking Age , in a stone mound tomb from the 2nd century BC. Bury.

The Viking settlement Sundvedas was 50 meters south.
