Hosed

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hosed also Hossed, Hosat or Husat (died 1010 ) was abbot of Corvey Monastery from 1001 to 1010 .

Nothing is known about his life before he became abbot.

Shortly after Henry II became king, he visited Corvey with his wife Kunigunde and numerous greats. The royal couple made presents to the monastery and Henry II confirmed all of its old privileges. Heinrich visited Corvey a second time in 1005.

Hosed had Corvey erect a memorial in memory of Widukind . He had to see that the monastery was set on fire by lightning and most of it was destroyed. This apparently affected him deeply, as he left Corvey and - mentally ill - soon died in another monastery.
