Hounslow East is an above-ground London Underground station in the London Borough of Hounslow . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 4 on Kingsley Road. In 2013, 4.34 million passengers used this station served by the Piccadilly Line .

The Metropolitan District Railway (MDR; predecessor of today's District Line ) opened the route between Osterley & Spring Grove and Hounslow Barracks (now Hounslow West ) on July 21, 1884 . The Hounslow Town terminus , which opened a year earlier, was in the immediate vicinity . After electrification was complete, the direct connection was closed, as all trains now turned around in Hounslow Town and returned to the main line via a connecting curve to the west. However, this form of operation proved to be impractical, so that the MDR Hounslow Town closed on May 1, 1909 and the following day the 300 meters north located station Hounslow East on the direct connection opened as a replacement.

The new station was initially also called Hounslow Town and was given its current name on December 1, 1925. On March 13, 1933, trains on the Piccadilly Line also ran for the first time. Since October 9, 1964, it is the only line on the section west of Acton Town , as the District Line was shortened.
