Hoya aeschynanthoides is a plant of the genus of wax flowers ( Hoya ) of the subfamily of asclepiadoideae (Asclepiadoideae).
features
Hoya aeschynanthoides is a perennial , epiphytic , more creeping than climbing plant with thread-like, branched shoots. The flexible branches hang down from tree branches or lie on branches with ascending tips. They are densely leafed and provided with adhesive and aerial roots. The leaves are short stalked, the petioles are 0.3 to 0.5 cm long and hairy with fine bristles. The leaf blades are broadly ovate to elliptical, 1.5 to 2.3 cm long and 1 to 1.8 cm wide. They are downy hairy on the top and bottom.
The umbel-shaped inflorescence has a short stalk. The peduncle is bristly hairy and 0.5 to 1 cm long. The flower stalks are also bristly hairy and 0.5 cm. The white corolla has a diameter of 5 mm. The bristly hairy sepals are lanceolate-oblong and 1.5 mm long. The corolla lobes are ovate-triangular, bare outside, densely covered with cilia on the inside at the edges, otherwise bare. The tips of the secondary crown rise and tower over the anthers. The inner processes are lanceolate with beaked tips, the outer process is elongated with a split end. The anthers extension is trapezoidal, the appendix is triangular and transparent. The stylus head is conical.
Similar Art
According to Rudolf Schlechter, Hoya aeschynanthoides is said to be more closely related to Hoya lacunosa Blume; this species belongs to the Otostemma section . According to Kloppenburg, however, the species belongs to the Acanthostemma section .
Geographical distribution and habitat
The distribution area is limited to the area at Long Dett, East Borneo or Kalimantan (former state Koetei / Kutei ). The type specimen grew there on trees in the tropical rainforest. Rudolf Schlechter found the plant in bloom in August 1901.
Taxonomy
The taxon was first described by Rudolf Schlechter in 1913. The lectotype was determined by Rodda (2017); it is the specimen Schlechter, R.13550, in the herbarium of the Botanical Garden in Berlin (B100277178). The taxon is listed online as a valid taxon by Plants of the World .
