Hubert Metz

Hubert Metz (born March 29, 1949 in Eschach im Allgäu ) is a German bodybuilder .

Life

During his apprenticeship as a car mechanic , Metz began strength training at the age of 14. After completing military service , Metz worked as a truck driver from 1970 . Metz won his first competition in 1973, the South German Championship. In 1977 Albert Busek invited him to the German championship in Essen , just a week in advance , which Metz won as the overall winner. He then worked as a trainer in a gym in Nuremberg . In 1980 Metz was again the overall winner of the German championship and world heavyweight champion (over 90 kg) in Manila . In the following years he worked as a professional bodybuilder and took part in the Mr. Olympia three times . Metz played his last competition in Atlanta in 1994 . From 1987 to 2018, Metz ran a shop for nutritional supplements in Nuremberg , which he sold under his name. In 2009 the DFBV accepted him into its Hall of Fame.
