Hubert Vogl

Hubert Vogl (born October 6, 1933 in Straubing ; † February 21, 2012 in Nuremberg ) was a German graphic artist and painter .

life and work

Vogl comes from Straubing in Lower Bavaria. His mother ran a candy store and his father was a plumber. Hubert Vogl grew up in a Catholic environment during the Second World War and the Reconstruction and studied at the Academy of Arts in Munich with Charles Crodel . He finished his studies as a master class student and went to school as an art teacher. Vogl married in 1966 and had four children.

He became known nationwide through the establishment of Schwabacher Drucke , a workshop for the production of graphic books with hand presses in small editions of up to 500 pieces.
