Hubert Zankl

Hubert Zankl (born October 24, 1911 in Sankt Veit an der Glan ; † February 6, 1989 in Feldkirchen in Carinthia ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and district school inspector. From 1962 to 1972 he was a member of the National Council .

After primary school, Zankl attended the community school in Sankt Veit and then switched to the teacher training institute in Klagenfurt . In 1930 he passed the Matura there, in 1933 he acquired the teaching qualification for elementary schools. 1938 those for secondary schools. As early as 1930 Zankl was working in the school service in Carinthia, in 1948 he was promoted to principal school director, in 1957 he took over the function of district school inspector.

Politically, Zankl worked as mayor in Sankt Veit an der Glan between 1950 and 1963, after which he was deputy mayor from 1963 to 1966. He also worked within the party from 1963 as district party chairman of the SPÖ St. Veit an der Glan and was a member of the SPÖ state party representation. He represented the SPÖ from December 14, 1962 to October 2, 1972 in the National Council.
