Hubertus Büschel

Hubertus Büschel (* 1969 in Weidach ) is a German historian .

Life

He studied history, Latin and German in Munich and Berlin . From 2001 to 2004 he was a research fellow and doctoral candidate at the Max Planck Institute for History . After receiving his doctorate in Göttingen in 2004, he taught from 2009 to 2015 as a junior professor for cultural history at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen and at the International Graduate Center for the Study of Culture . After completing his habilitation in Gießen in 2012, he received a Heisenberg grant from the German Research Foundation in 2015 . From 2015 to 2019 he was professor of contemporary history at the University of Groningen . Since 2019 he has been teaching as professor for modern and contemporary history at the University of Kassel .
