Hubertus Chapel (Ostrachtal)

Hubertus Chapel

The Hubertus Chapel , built mainly of wood in 1928, is under the patronage of Saint Hubertus of Liège and is located on the road between the gable house and Hinterstein in the rear Ostrachtal .

There is a pyramid-shaped roof turret on the steep gable roof . The porch has polygonal windows, the actual interior oval.

The altarpiece shows the legend of Hubertus. The original version came from Adelheid von Chlingensperg , who belonged to the Salzkammergut artists' guild and was murdered in Auschwitz in 1944 . In 1988 the altarpiece, like two saints by the same artist a few years earlier, fell victim to vandals. There is now a reconstruction based on a photograph of the picture in the Hubertus Chapel.
