Hugo Arzt (born September 4, 1877 in Michelstadt , † June 5, 1952 in Wiesbaden ) was a German civil servant. He was president of the Deutsche Reichsbahndirektion .

Life

He came from a Hessian cloth maker family. After passing the high school diploma in March 1896 at the Grand Ducal Realgymnasium in Darmstadt , Hugo Arzt went to study mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich. Later he moved to Darmstadt and finally to the Technical University of Hanover. On December 18, 1902, he passed the main diploma examination and on February 22, 1906, the state examination. He then embarked on a civil service career, in which he was appointed government building supervisor in 1903, government builder in 1906, building officer in 1916, government building officer in 1920, senior government building officer in 1922 and regional railroad superintendent in 1924. On October 1, 1932, he was promoted to director of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and head of the Reichsbahndirektion Oldenburg. After the Reichsbahndirektion Oldenburg was dissolved at the end of 1934, Hugo Arzt worked for a few months in Essen and was then transferred to Münster in September 1935 as President of the Reichsbahndirektion .
