Hugo Erdmann Müller

Hugo Erdmann Müller (born October 15, 1817 , † February 13, 1899 in Dresden ) was a lawyer, Saxon-Altenburg privy councilor, district director and president of the state parliament.

Career

Hugo Erdmann Müller was born in 1817. From 1850 to 1865 he was director of the Neustädter Kreis and district director of the fifth administrative district, from 1852 to 1894 a member and temporarily president of the state parliament and secret council of state in Altenburg. During his tenure, he personally campaigned for the benefit of all strata of the population and improved living conditions in Neustadt an der Orla . In 1853, for example, he set up a “children's employment institution”, opened the secondary school in Neustadt in 1856 and contributed to the development of the landscape, for example. B. by authorizing the opening of restaurants outside the city. On January 2, 1866 , he was therefore made an honorary citizen of the city of Neustadt an der Orla. After his death in Dresden in 1899, the Hugo Müller Foundation was established from his inheritance, which continued to support poor people in Neustadt.
