The Sandbachtal nature reserve is located in the Unna district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The 16.5 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1990 , extends southeast of the core town of Bönen along the Sandbach, a tributary of the Seseke . The A 2 runs north of the area .
