The Lippeaue nature reserve from Werne to Heil lies in the area of ​​the towns of Bergkamen and Werne in the Unna district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The approximately 415 hectare area was placed under nature protection in 2007 under the code number UN-055 . It extends northeast of Wethmar , a district of Lünen , and southwest of the core town of Werne along the Lippe . The B 54 runs along the northern edge of the area and the L 736 state road runs along the southern edge. The Datteln-Hamm Canal flows south-east, while the 100-hectare Beversee nature reserve extends to the south .
