The nature reserve forests near Cappenberg-Ost is the largest nature reserve in the Unna district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The 421 hectare area, which consists of two sub-areas and was placed under nature protection under the code number UN-051 in 2007 , is located in the area of the cities of Selm and Werne . It extends east of Cappenberg , a district of Selm. The state road L 507 runs along the northern edge and not far to the west is the L 810. The B 54 runs to the southeast and flows the Lippe , and the B 236 runs to the west .
